- 1. Introduction to Stand Up for Your HealthPurpose: Provide background on the program and why it matters. Objectives: By the end of this section, participants will be able to: • Be familiar with the facilitator materials • Identify the overview of the training • Explain the health impacts of prolonged sitting and the importance of reducing sedentary behavior. • Identify the target population and intended outcomes of the program. • Describe the purpose and goals of the Stand Up for Your Health program.3
- 2. Understanding the Program StructurePurpose: Ensure facilitators can confidently use the manual when delivering sessions. Objectives: By the end of this section, participants will be able to: • Identify the structure and session format of the Stand Up for Your Health program. • Recognize the content used throughout the Stand Up for Your Health program • Navigate the Stand Up Facilitator Manual. • Identify where to find key materials used during program delivery. • Use the manual to prepare for each session.3
- 3. Supporting Behavior ChangePurpose: Introduce the behavior change approach used and provide facilitators with practical strategies to help participants reduce sedentary behavior. Objectives: By the end of this section, participants will be able to: • Describe the behavior change approach used in the Stand Up for Your Health program • Explain how Stand Up strategies help participants reduce sedentary behavior • Identify key tools used in the program to support behavior change • Use the Addressing Barriers framework to help participants overcome challenges • Describe how tools such as click counters support awareness and behavior change2
- 4. Exploring the Workshop SessionsPurpose: This section familiarizes facilitators with the structure and flow of the four Stand Up workshop sessions. Objectives: By the end of this section, participants will be able to: • Describe the purpose and focus of each of the four Stand Up workshop sessions • Identify key activities and discussion topics included in each session • Explain how the sessions build on one another to support participant learning and behavior change • Identify important facilitation elements used throughout the sessions7
- 5. Facilitating Stand Up SessionsPurpose: Prepare facilitators to run session by ensuring understanding of how the program works and what must be delivered both in-person and virtually. Objectives: By the end of this section, participants will be able to: • Describe the differences between in-person and virtual delivery • Identify use of participant materials during sessions for virtual and in-person delivery2
- 6. Program Fidelity & Key ElementsPurpose: Ensure the program is delivered consistently and correctly. Objectives: Participants will be able to: • Identify required program elements that must remain consistent • Recognize what adaptations are acceptable • Understand expectations for delivering the program • Prepare for their first program delivery2
- 7. Planning & Implementing the ProgramPurpose: Help facilitators plan to run the program. Objectives: By the end of this section, participants will be able to: • Outline the steps required to plan and implement the program. • Identify strategies for recruiting and supporting participants. • Identify materials and resources needed for delivery. • Plan for both in-person and virtual program delivery. • Complete a Planning Checklist • Describe expectations for program delivery and reporting. • Assess readiness to facilitate the Stand Up program2
